Coming its annual event of streetwear and hype culture, YO’HOOD 2017 kicked off in Shanghai on Friday, Sep 1, featuring the latest trends, street fashion and arts. The event invited many big names in the street world such as Nigo, Futura, Pharrell Williams and Tetsu Nishiyama, in the meanwhile gathering a whole lot of brands like Human Made, Undercover, Rip n Dip, Stussy, Nike, Adidas, Vans and more.
Subtle, represented as a Hong Kong-based urban label, made its first appearance at YO’HOOD event, presenting a creative installation that blends Subtle multicolored elements and inspiration from the legendary artist Piet Mondrian.
Inspired from Piet Mondrian’s well-known abstract painting, the space in main is designed with primary directions (horizontal and vertical thick black line) and primary colors (red, blue and yellow), while the products are filled in the color blocks to contribute a vibrant, visual space. To highlight a street style, descriptive texts are printed upon the thick black line with solid white color.
Titled “Subtle & Mondrian,” the space showcased the Mr.Rain Vol.2 which features several new colorways for U1 Umbrella and AWAY Raincoat. The Vol.2 also released two new items, Voyage Duffel bag and ASSASSIN Strapback cap, remaining Subtle’s iconic design pattern with solid colors. Moreover, Subtle exhibited couple of new accessories including Helios Sunglasses and Cube plastic water bottle with alphabet printing patterns.
